Canoeing with Jen 15th May 2010

I finally managed to catch up with Jen on a dewy sunny morning at Byecross campsite, where I met her and a few others including Roger who I know a bit so it was pretty cool seeing those guys! We went and paddled UPSTREAM on the Wye from the campsite not far from Moccas which is the

other side of Hay from Tregoyd – we ended up tandem poling up this one little rapid and we didn’t make it but it was a bloody good effort by us both! We came back thoroughly knackered after that paddle when Claire, one of the others paddling, suggested that we go and play on a wave not more than 200yds from the campsite, so we did!

It was ace actually, I managed to surf Jen’s Wenonah canoe which I was well proud of, and then me and Claire managed in tandem to paddle up this little feature by eddy hopping which was great, and we made it too J So after a sociable brew around the campfire as the sun was fading, I decided to go back to centre. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGkmmZzHGUE

After my very manly (GRR!) days canoeing with Jen and working super hard paddling upstream on the Wye, we had the May ball at Tregoyd... and yes i had to don a dress for the evening unfortunately for those that went that had to witness such a thing..!

I also look like im having a big poo in both of these photos...! Must be my concentrating face!
