Glentress and Quadrocks
A cool wee weekend off of running, I have to confess I just wasnt up for it to be honest so we bugged out biking and climbing seeing as I managed to keep hold of Teri's wheels for another week!!
Saturday:
Tanya and Martin were going to come with us but they woke up feeling all sicky....I reckon they wanted the morning in bed! tehehehe....so Dave and I went along anyway, even though we hadnt decided till late the previous night so were a bit grumpy at 7am...lol Obligatory pie shop stop too, but the trouble is we ate them in the car park before we even left as they were still warm...oops.
Straight up to the top via a lap of Berm baby on the way, seemed rude not to, and a total run down on the reds to the bit below the middle car park, I think it went something like spooky, super g, hit squad, pie run, the matrix, lombard street, magic mushroom. I took a fall on Pie run by skidding to the side on a tree root and going into the tree with some force, scuffed up my arms and legs a bit!! At the car park we elected to go back to the blue circuit rather than spooky again as we were both gubbed! I cant remember the blues names or order we did them but I think we did all of them?! So knackered, we did 33km in 3hrs...pretty happy with that :)
Sunday:
Whilst slumped on the sofa after biking, we decided a more of a climbing day was in order for Sunday, so we went off to the Quadrocks in Largs, glorious weather, easy climbs, short walk-in sounds good to me.
Ticked off several VDiffs and had a good day overall, im still battling with being a bit scared of falling and not trusting my feet, and my first lead shook me up a bit but it was all ok from there, felt better as the day went on. The severe that I just seconded I though I could have done so, overall, good times! Gorgeous sun, gorgeous view ... just a shame about the rubbish company....! :P
