Kayaking at SY 4th March 2010

Went to SY and had a bit of a paddle on the fl

at bit at the top with the novices and did some work with Piotr and Kieran on access, and basic paddling techniques so that he could see what skills we had! We moved on to the rapid itself and Kieran took a swim near to the bottom of the rapid, I

eddied out, and so Billy and Piotr had to go and rescue him leaving me in the eddy. Then Hannah jumped on and also went for a swim whilst rescuing Paton who had also gone for a swim...all in all I spent about an hour in the eddy just waiting for

people to be rescued as I didn’t want to add to the problem myself by being cheeky and not telling anybody where I was going...a

bit of a fail on the paddling front for me but definitely a bit of amusement nonetheless. I was in the H2 for this one.
