Luss Hills - 23km, 2200m ascent and not a munro in sight

Beinn Dubh, Doune Hill, Cruach an t-Sihein, Beinn a' Mhanaich, Beinn Chaorach - Parked in Glen Luss & went round circuit, cloud/fog at all levels, cloud level variable 300m - 600m, summits cleared when in the valleys...grr, day for practicing bearings, pacing and timing, lots of height loss, with a river crossing.

It was a pretty long day actually, we spent the whole day up in the clouds, and it was well funny watching Dave slowly realise over the day that the hills dont have to be high to be demanding, as in these hills, the height you gained, you lost almost all of it getting to the next one, hence a 2200m day out when you never go above 700m! Was good, I was kinda done in by the end, but it was nice to have some navigation to do and actually be concentrating enough to do it - was cool. Glad we took the van though as Daves car would have lost a bit of value scraping the front in and out of that lay-by!!

A few pics from the day...
So i was right, thats a leaky boot all day long... :(

Final descent :)

Me being careful...!

A very well poised Cairn :)

One of the better views we had up high

Initial ascent of Beinn Dubh

Most of the hills gave views like this!
