3* Kayak Assessment... 23rd July 2010

Well that was a bit of a surprise! On the way back from working at another centre in Guildford for a few days , got a call on the way back to ask about a river trip - having been driving for 4 hours i hesitated but had my arm twisted by Piotr which to be honest, it didnt take much effort!! In any case we decided to go and run the section of the Usk from Talybont to Llangynid. It was awesome, Piotr, Paton, Juggles and I all trekked out in the van and immediately made our way down, via Mills falls and another larger drop after the usual get-off at the bridge - that was the hardest one and we ran it down the middle and for some unknown reason i was the first to go and i made a fantastic line which was ace :) Then to bang out a roll, well, it took me about 15 attempts, and I was dizzy, felt sick and stuff but I got up in the end :D motivation being that once we had run the drop, I was told that if i could roll, we would get out 3*'s signed off.. well... the determination was pretty intense! Either way, we went home via an awesome pizza place and all was goooood :) Happy days :)
