The Ardeche 11th - 14th July 2010

After having a few days off with family, I arrived back at centre on the Saturday at about 6pm to get ready to go at 1am (eugh..). After sorting out moving rooms and stuff i set about trying to pack up into my rucksack the kit i needed for our three-ish days trip including one night at a bivvy site on the river. I got so excited and so did the others, that nobody went to bed we all just decided to man up and pull an all nighter. After a long night we arrived, and immediately decided to go off on a bike ride to obtain very important articles such as sun cream, ice cream and an inflatable crocodile...the essentials obviously! However, we decided to stop off at an awesome little natural pool affectionately called the secret pond on the road from Segries to Vallon... aside being our saviour from the relentless heat, it was an amazing place...a proper secluded little pond with a nice little rock jump :)

We trekked on the bikes into Vallon and found that the intermarche was closed but we did go

for a swim at suicide weir on the Ardeche as well as a couple of dips in the secret pond so that was all good :)

A 16k bike ride the day after an all nighter in almost 40degree heat...always a winner...it was an early night!
